On the hottest day of the year, two kindred spirits brought everyone they loved together to celebrate their love at the stunning Swallows Nest Barn in Warwickshire.

They wanted a wedding that felt entirely their own, non-traditional, relaxed and filled with enchanted, whimsical details. Wendy Witch led a beautiful handfasting ceremony beneath the trees, creating a personal woodland celebration of their love and union.

I was there to provide hybrid wedding coverage, capturing both photography and film. Their photographs had a magical, dreamlike feel, while their film conveyed a true documentary approach recording the day naturally as it happened.

With temperatures reaching 34°C, we waited until sunset for their couple portraits. I encouraged the beautiful bride to leave her wheelchair for a few minutes to have a romantic moment laying on the grass beneath the magical sunset. They later described that quiet time together as one of their favourite parts of the entire day and I am so glad we did it because I feel those photo’s truly make their album come to life. The light was truly on our side and we all truly felt that it was her Dad looking down from above during those moments. It was a truly relaxed & magical moment in time for us all.

Couple centred using natural light & just running where the moment took us, that’s what its all about for me.

The celebrations continued with smoke bombs, prosecco sprays and an incredible fire dancer as the evening drew to a close.
